Godfather OG
Indica-Dominant Hybrid (approx. 60%–80% Indica)
25% – 30% (has tested as high as 34%)

Godfather OG or Indica-Dominant Hybrid (approx. 60%–80% Indica) is a strain that typically contains THC levels between 25% – 30% (has tested as high as 34%) and CBD levels ranging from < 1% (usually 0.1% – 0.7%). Known for its Earthy, Pine, Spicy, with subtle Grape/Berry undertones profile, this strain has a growth expectation of being 100cm – 180cm (3 to 6 feet); manageable indoors in height, with a nutrient demand that is Medium-High; heavy feeder during the mid-bloom "bulk" phase.
This Indica-Dominant Hybrid (approx. 60%–80% Indica) is of the Genetype: Alpha OG x XXX OG (alternatively: Bubba Kush x L.A. Confidential x GDP). The Godfather OG strain has 3 phases of the growing cycle.
The first phase is the Seedling Phase. Once you have decided to grow Godfather OG in either soil or hydroponiclay, the ph levels need to be monitored. The ph level desired by Indica-Dominant Hybrid (approx. 60%–80% Indica) is 6.0 – 7.0 (Sweet spot: 6.5) and 5.5 – 6.5 (Sweet spot: 5.8) hydroponically. During this infancy stage, Godfather OG needs to maintain a target temperature of 73°F – 79°F (23°C – 26°C) for 2 to 3 weeks. Once the seed germinates, it will sprout it's first set of round leaves, or the cotyledons. If you are able to maintain the target humidity of 55% – 65% RH, the iconic serrated leaves will just begin to show themselves. During this critical Phase 1 of the Indica-Dominant Hybrid (approx. 60%–80% Indica) growing cycle the plant is establishing a strong root sytem. Beginners often over water these fragile seedlings. Do not drown your seeds. You seedling Godfather OG needs care and gentle light. The recommended light cycle for growing Godfather OG is 18/6 or 20/4 (Photoperiod) for the first cycle, which should last .
The next is the Vegetative Phase. The Godfather OG will focus entirely on size and structural integity. The temperature needs also change for phase 2. If a target temperature of 68°F – 75°F (20°C – 24°C) is maintained and a target humidity of 40% – 50% RH is achieved, the Indica-Dominant Hybrid (approx. 60%–80% Indica) will grow stems, branches and plenty of large fan leaves. This Alpha OG x XXX OG (alternatively: Bubba Kush x L.A. Confidential x GDP) is trying to build it's own solar panel of leaves to absorb energy. It is critical to maintain a proper light cycle of 12/12 for the entire phase 2 schedule. This consistent energy will help plant grow bigger without producing flowers, focusing it's energy on growing tall and strong. Godfather OG is at it's most resilient and may grow quickly. As phase 2 comes to an end, it may be topped or tied down, as it's training suitability is considered High; responds well to Topping, LST, and SCROG to open canopy.
The most exciting phase, when growing Alpha OG x XXX OG (alternatively: Bubba Kush x L.A. Confidential x GDP) is the Flowering Phase. The plants adulthood lasts . It is at this phase that the light cycle changes for the last time. Godfather OG will produce the most flowers when the light cycle is 12/12. Keep the temperature and humity controlled at 65°F – 70°F (18°C – 21°C) and 30% – 40% RH (Crucial for mold prevention) so you can really watch this plant strecth and almost double in height. It will want to start producing early into the flowering process.
You will know the Godfather OG is ready when the white hairs (pistils) turn amber/brown and the resin glands (trichomes) look milky or cloudy, rather than clear. Cutting the plant down even a week too early can significantly reduce the potency and weight of your harvest. Patience in the flowering phase will provide the best possible outomce of Indica-Dominant Hybrid (approx. 60%–80% Indica) with a desired gorwth profile that will be:
Compact, bushy, and sturdy; does not stretch aggressively
Growers Notes: Hobby Grower’s Notes
Support the Weight: While the plant is sturdy, the buds become incredibly dense and heavy. By Week 5 of flowering, you will likely need bamboo stakes or a second trellis net layer to prevent branches from snapping.
Defoliation is Mandatory: Because of its bushy Indica structure, light penetration to lower nodes is poor. Perform a "lollipop" (remove lower growth) before the flip to flower and a heavy defoliation around Day 21 of bloom to ensure airflow.
The "Micro-Climate" Risk: The buds are so compact that they can trap moisture even if your room humidity looks okay. Ensure you have oscillating fans blowing above and below the canopy—never directly at the buds—to prevent "Bud Rot" (Botrytis).
Patience in the Final Week: Godfather OG often looks ready at Week 8, but letting it go until Day 65-70 usually results in a significant increase in sedative "couch-lock" effects as trichomes turn amber.
