Moby Dick or Sativa-dominant Hybrid (approx. 60–75% Sativa) is a strain that typically contains THC levels between High: 17% – 27% (depending on breeder/pheno) and CBD levels ranging from Low: 0.01% – 0.9%. Known for its Citrus, Pine, Haze, and Incense profile, this strain has a growth expectation of being Indoor: 120–150cm in height, with a nutrient demand that is Very High; "Greedy" feeder, especially for Nitrogen.

This Sativa-dominant Hybrid (approx. 60–75% Sativa) is of the Genetype: White Widow x Haze. The Moby Dick strain has 3 phases of the growing cycle.

The first phase is the Seedling Phase. Once you have decided to grow Moby Dick in either soil or hydroponiclay, the ph levels need to be monitored. The ph level desired by Sativa-dominant Hybrid (approx. 60–75% Sativa) is 6.0 – 6.5 and 5.5 – 6.0 hydroponically. During this infancy stage, Moby Dick needs to maintain a target temperature of 70–80°F (21–27°C) for 2 to 3 weeks. Once the seed germinates, it will sprout it's first set of round leaves, or the cotyledons. If you are able to maintain the target humidity of 60–70% (Seedling), the iconic serrated leaves will just begin to show themselves. During this critical Phase 1 of the Sativa-dominant Hybrid (approx. 60–75% Sativa) growing cycle the plant is establishing a strong root sytem. Beginners often over water these fragile seedlings. Do not drown your seeds. You seedling Moby Dick needs care and gentle light. The recommended light cycle for growing Moby Dick is 18/6 or 20/4 Cycle for the first cycle, which should last .

The next is the Vegetative Phase. The Moby Dick will focus entirely on size and structural integity. The temperature needs also change for phase 2. If a target temperature of 68–78°F (20–25°C) is maintained and a target humidity of 40–50% (Lower to 40% in late bloom) is achieved, the Sativa-dominant Hybrid (approx. 60–75% Sativa) will grow stems, branches and plenty of large fan leaves. This White Widow x Haze is trying to build it's own solar panel of leaves to absorb energy. It is critical to maintain a proper light cycle of 12/12 Cycle for the entire phase 2 schedule. This consistent energy will help plant grow bigger without producing flowers, focusing it's energy on growing tall and strong. Moby Dick is at it's most resilient and may grow quickly. As phase 2 comes to an end, it may be topped or tied down, as it's training suitability is considered Excellent for SCROG, LST, and Topping.

The most exciting phase, when growing White Widow x Haze is the Flowering Phase. The plants adulthood lasts . It is at this phase that the light cycle changes for the last time. Moby Dick will produce the most flowers when the light cycle is Absolute Dark. Keep the temperature and humity controlled at 60–65°F (15–18°C) and 50–55% so you can really watch this plant strecth and almost double in height. It will want to start producing early into the flowering process.

You will know the Moby Dick is ready when the white hairs (pistils) turn amber/brown and the resin glands (trichomes) look milky or cloudy, rather than clear. Cutting the plant down even a week too early can significantly reduce the potency and weight of your harvest. Patience in the flowering phase will provide the best possible outomce of Sativa-dominant Hybrid (approx. 60–75% Sativa) with a desired gorwth profile that will be:
Vigorous, tall, and highly branched; high mold resistance

Growers Notes: Hobby Grower’s Notes
Space Management: This strain is notorious for a massive "stretch" during the first three weeks of flowering. If growing indoors, flip to the 12/12 light cycle earlier than usual to avoid the plants hitting your lights.

The "Greedy" Strain: Moby Dick is a heavy eater. Keep a close eye on your leaves for signs of hunger; it can handle higher EC/PPM levels than most other sativas.

Structural Support: Due to the weight of the colas (which can resemble baseball bats), you must use trellising or bamboo stakes. Without support, the branches are likely to snap in the final weeks.

Resistance: It has excellent natural resistance to mold (Botrytis), making it a great choice for outdoor growers in climates where autumn might be slightly damp.
Lineage:
Breeder: Originally Dinafem Seeds (also Barney's Farm, 420 Genetics)
Primary Terpenes: Terpinolene, Myrcene, Limonene, Pinene
