Sunset Sherbert
Indica-dominant Hybrid (approx. 85% Indica / 15% Sativa)
18% – 24%

Sunset Sherbert or Indica-dominant Hybrid (approx. 85% Indica / 15% Sativa) is a strain that typically contains THC levels between 18% – 24% and CBD levels ranging from Low (<1%). Known for its Sweet berry, citrus, and creamy dessert with earthy-kush undertones profile, this strain has a growth expectation of being Indoor: 3–4 ft (90–120 cm) | Outdoor: 5–6 ft (150–180 cm) in height, with a nutrient demand that is Moderate; responds well to Nitrogen in Veg and Phosphorus/Potassium in Flower.
This Indica-dominant Hybrid (approx. 85% Indica / 15% Sativa) is of the Genetype: Photoperiod. The Sunset Sherbert strain has 3 phases of the growing cycle.
The first phase is the Seedling Phase. Once you have decided to grow Sunset Sherbert in either soil or hydroponiclay, the ph levels need to be monitored. The ph level desired by Indica-dominant Hybrid (approx. 85% Indica / 15% Sativa) is 6.0 – 6.8 and 5.5 – 6.0 hydroponically. During this infancy stage, Sunset Sherbert needs to maintain a target temperature of 72°F – 78°F (22°C – 25°C) for 2 to 3 weeks. Once the seed germinates, it will sprout it's first set of round leaves, or the cotyledons. If you are able to maintain the target humidity of 60% – 70%, the iconic serrated leaves will just begin to show themselves. During this critical Phase 1 of the Indica-dominant Hybrid (approx. 85% Indica / 15% Sativa) growing cycle the plant is establishing a strong root sytem. Beginners often over water these fragile seedlings. Do not drown your seeds. You seedling Sunset Sherbert needs care and gentle light. The recommended light cycle for growing Sunset Sherbert is 18/6 (18 hours light / 6 hours dark) for the first cycle, which should last .
The next is the Vegetative Phase. The Sunset Sherbert will focus entirely on size and structural integity. The temperature needs also change for phase 2. If a target temperature of 68°F – 75°F (20°C – 24°C) is maintained and a target humidity of 40% – 50% (Crucial to prevent mold in dense buds) is achieved, the Indica-dominant Hybrid (approx. 85% Indica / 15% Sativa) will grow stems, branches and plenty of large fan leaves. This Photoperiod is trying to build it's own solar panel of leaves to absorb energy. It is critical to maintain a proper light cycle of 12/12 (12 hours light / 12 hours dark) for the entire phase 2 schedule. This consistent energy will help plant grow bigger without producing flowers, focusing it's energy on growing tall and strong. Sunset Sherbert is at it's most resilient and may grow quickly. As phase 2 comes to an end, it may be topped or tied down, as it's training suitability is considered High; Excellent for LST, Topping, and ScrOG (Screen of Green).
The most exciting phase, when growing Photoperiod is the Flowering Phase. The plants adulthood lasts . It is at this phase that the light cycle changes for the last time. Sunset Sherbert will produce the most flowers when the light cycle is 12/12. Keep the temperature and humity controlled at 65°F – 70°F (18°C – 21°C) (Lower temps help bring out purple colors) and 35% – 40% so you can really watch this plant strecth and almost double in height. It will want to start producing early into the flowering process.
You will know the Sunset Sherbert is ready when the white hairs (pistils) turn amber/brown and the resin glands (trichomes) look milky or cloudy, rather than clear. Cutting the plant down even a week too early can significantly reduce the potency and weight of your harvest. Patience in the flowering phase will provide the best possible outomce of Indica-dominant Hybrid (approx. 85% Indica / 15% Sativa) with a desired gorwth profile that will be:
Compact, bushy, and sturdy with heavy lateral branching
Growers Notes: Hobby Grower’s Practical Tips
Color Expression: To achieve those iconic "sunset" purples, try to create a temperature differential between "lights on" and "lights off" during the final 2 weeks of flowering (aim for a 10-15 degree drop at night).
Airflow is King: Because the buds are exceptionally dense, use oscillating fans both above and below the canopy to prevent bud rot (Botrytis).
Pest Resistance: Generally has a decent resistance to mildew, but spider mites find the sweet terpene profile attractive—inspect leaves weekly.
Lineage: Girl Scout Cookies (GSC) x Pink Panties
Breeder: Sherbinskis (Mr. Sherbinski)
Primary Terpenes: Caryophyllene (pepper), Limonene (citrus), Myrcene (herbal)
