Vanilla Frosting
Indica-dominant Hybrid (approx. 60% Indica / 40% Sativa)
24% – 30% (High Potency)

Vanilla Frosting or Indica-dominant Hybrid (approx. 60% Indica / 40% Sativa) is a strain that typically contains THC levels between 24% – 30% (High Potency) and CBD levels ranging from <1% (Low CBD). Known for its Creamy Vanilla, Sweet Fuel, and Floral profile, this strain has a growth expectation of being Medium (Indoor: 1.0–1.5m in height, with a nutrient demand that is Moderate to Heavy; responds well to PK boosters in mid-flower.
This Indica-dominant Hybrid (approx. 60% Indica / 40% Sativa) is of the Genetype: Humboldt Frost OG x Humboldt Gelato Bx3. The Vanilla Frosting strain has 3 phases of the growing cycle.
The first phase is the Seedling Phase. Once you have decided to grow Vanilla Frosting in either soil or hydroponiclay, the ph levels need to be monitored. The ph level desired by Indica-dominant Hybrid (approx. 60% Indica / 40% Sativa) is 6.0 – 7.0 and 5.5 – 6.5 hydroponically. During this infancy stage, Vanilla Frosting needs to maintain a target temperature of 70°F – 85°F (21°C – 29°C) for 2 to 3 weeks. Once the seed germinates, it will sprout it's first set of round leaves, or the cotyledons. If you are able to maintain the target humidity of 50% – 70% RH, the iconic serrated leaves will just begin to show themselves. During this critical Phase 1 of the Indica-dominant Hybrid (approx. 60% Indica / 40% Sativa) growing cycle the plant is establishing a strong root sytem. Beginners often over water these fragile seedlings. Do not drown your seeds. You seedling Vanilla Frosting needs care and gentle light. The recommended light cycle for growing Vanilla Frosting is 18/6 or 20/4 Cycle for the first cycle, which should last .
The next is the Vegetative Phase. The Vanilla Frosting will focus entirely on size and structural integity. The temperature needs also change for phase 2. If a target temperature of 68°F – 80°F (20°C – 26°C) is maintained and a target humidity of 45% – 55% RH is achieved, the Indica-dominant Hybrid (approx. 60% Indica / 40% Sativa) will grow stems, branches and plenty of large fan leaves. This Humboldt Frost OG x Humboldt Gelato Bx3 is trying to build it's own solar panel of leaves to absorb energy. It is critical to maintain a proper light cycle of 12/12 Cycle for the entire phase 2 schedule. This consistent energy will help plant grow bigger without producing flowers, focusing it's energy on growing tall and strong. Vanilla Frosting is at it's most resilient and may grow quickly. As phase 2 comes to an end, it may be topped or tied down, as it's training suitability is considered High (Excellent for LST, Topping, and SCROG).
The most exciting phase, when growing Humboldt Frost OG x Humboldt Gelato Bx3 is the Flowering Phase. The plants adulthood lasts . It is at this phase that the light cycle changes for the last time. Vanilla Frosting will produce the most flowers when the light cycle is 12/12 Cycle. Keep the temperature and humity controlled at 65°F – 75°F (18°C – 24°C) and 35% – 45% RH so you can really watch this plant strecth and almost double in height. It will want to start producing early into the flowering process.
You will know the Vanilla Frosting is ready when the white hairs (pistils) turn amber/brown and the resin glands (trichomes) look milky or cloudy, rather than clear. Cutting the plant down even a week too early can significantly reduce the potency and weight of your harvest. Patience in the flowering phase will provide the best possible outomce of Indica-dominant Hybrid (approx. 60% Indica / 40% Sativa) with a desired gorwth profile that will be:
Strong lateral branching, medium internodal spacing, sturdy stalks
Growers Notes: Hobby Grower’s Notes
The "Frost" Factor: As the name suggests, this strain produces an extreme amount of trichomes. Ensure your carbon filter is fresh, as the "gassy vanilla" aroma becomes pungent by week 4 of flower.
Structure & Airflow: While it has strong stalks, the buds become very dense. Hobbyists should use Low-Stress Training (LST) early to open up the canopy. In late flower, high airflow is mandatory to prevent bud rot within the dense, resinous colas.
Color Expression: If you drop your nighttime temperatures by about 10°F during the final 2 weeks (Phase 3), many phenotypes will exhibit beautiful purple hues against the silvery "frosting."
Feeding Tip: It is relatively hardy but can be sensitive to Nitrogen toxicity late in Veg. Transition to Bloom nutrients as soon as you flip to 12/12 to focus on flower development.
Lineage: Humboldt Frost OG x Humboldt Gelato Bx3
Breeder: Humboldt Seed Company (Original) / Anesia Seeds
Primary Terpenes: Myrcene, Beta-Caryophyllene, Pinene, Limonene
